Garden in bloom

Some news from my house! The walls have been erected, now it's the time of the roof, which will take a little bit longer.

In my parents' garden, the cherry tree is in bloom!!! I've always loved it and now I'm very happy that also my little Sofia will be able to see its stunning show every spring!

Just in front of the cherry tree there will be my patio! I can't wait to sit down and relax among all this beauty! Soon I will post about all the ideas I have to create it!

All my parents' garden is now in bloom, here a collage of some pictures I have taken on Saturday:

I hope these pictures will bring a little bit of colours in your day! Have a great week!!

News from my house

Yesterday we went to my parents to have lunch together and look at the work in progress of our new house. The foundations are done, now it's time to begin to build! It's so incredible, we started just 2 weeks ago and now I become to see how my home will be!!!

The foundations done!

On the back there are my father with Sofia and my husband.
This is where my kitchen will be:

Spring is finally arrived in Italy! Yesterday it was a fantastic sunny Sunday! And in my parents' garden a lot of flowers are in bloom!

... and that's Sofia, wandering around in my parents' garden.

Have a great week!!!

Ready, steady, go!

Yes! It's confermated! Tomorrow, Monday, the 15th March, will be the first day of works at our building yard!

My dad is more relaxed now that the works are going to start! ;) I've told you he was like addicted to the idea of building... To tell the truth, he was obsessed! In the last months he wok up every day saying to my mother: "This night I've tought that we can make this, or maybe it's better if we make that..." and so on ... every day...all day long!! Imagine: with the calculator in one hand and the other hand on his forehead he spent hours and hours thinking, projecting, writting, cancelling and re-writting!

Well, I'm making fun of him right now, but I have to say thank you to my wonderful dad for all the work he's made for us in these months! As my husband and I work and with my daughter to care about, we have very few time; my dad has given us a big hand! =)

This mornig I've taken these pictures: the first one is the front of my parents' house:

And this is the back, where the new building will be realized:

Yes, I know, it's NOT romantic... at all! But, please, try to imagine (try hard!), my new home just here! A white kitchen with a pergola outside, on the garden, a living room with a fireplace, a cosy bedroom filled with pillows.... I can see it! The adventure begins!

We are going to start!

This mornig we have signed the contract with the builder! So this means that in some days our new home will begin to take form! If everything is ok, next Monday, the 15th March, will be the D-Day, the day the scraper will invade my parents' garden and the bricklayers will start their works!!! I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!! Finally the adventure REALLY begins!!!!!

What I can show you now is the project: I have spent a lot of time with my scanner to try to have a decent image to show!!! The houses' projects are unbelievebly BIG, so it was hard to put the right image on the scanner, in the correct way, hoping to get a result.

So, here we are:

RED: the new building.
YELLOW: part of my parents' house that will be renovating.

I have also indicated all the rooms, so that you can try to imagine how it will be!!

Aiuto, fermatelo!!!

Mio padre è in pensione.

My fater is retired. He was a chef. But his dreams' job was: builder! Since we started the adventure of building our new house, he became frantic. He is the nightmare of our geometer: he makes a lot of questions and he knows almot everything about building a house! Why is he so involved in the building of OUR house? Simple, our house will be built restructuring part of my parents' house. That's why he is SO involved. That's ok with us because we work and I have my little one to care about. But the fact is that he is becoming addicted: he wakes up saying to my mother: "I have tought this, I have thought that." My mother listens, nods and then, when she is exausted, she goes out for a bicycle ride!!!!
Meanwhile I search on Internet beautiful images with which dream on my house. These are from Green Gate:

So here we are, at the beginning of a new exciting adventure: the building of our new house! And it will be our FIRST house, because we have always lived in rented houses untill now!
When we were just two, my husband and I, we lived in a mini-apartment. When we discovered we would have a baby, we moved into a bigger apartment, but still a rented one, 'cause of the expensive prices of the houses. The, the last october, my father asked us if we wanted to have a part of my partent's house to transform into OUR home. YES!!! Of course!!!Result? We are literaly absorbed in reading and trying to understand all the offers from plumbers, electricians and builders! The adventure has began!
