Akhilandeshwari, Akhila for short, is an indian single 45 years old woman who dedicated her all life to her family due to the untimely death of her father.
To raise her younger sister and brothers and to maintain her mother, Akhila puts away her dreams and starts working.
But one day she decides she doesn't want to be just a daughter, an older sister, an aunt, she wants to discover who she is and how to live her life alone, remaining single and being indipendent economically and socially.

Ma un giorno decide che non vuole più essere solamente la sorella maggiore, la figlia, la zia, lei vuole scoprire chi è, e come vivere la sua vita da single restando indipendente economicamente e socialmente.

So Akhila decides to take a journey on a train, a night train, an old one with a reserved ladies coupè (which doesn't exist anymore in India), to find the answers she is looking for. On this train she meets 5 women, 5 ways of living as a woman in modern India, 5 different stories of 5 different lives that will help Akhila understant how to escape from all the roles her family has created for her and how to be a strong, happy, indipendent and single woman.
Quindi Akhila decide di fare un viaggio in treno, un treno notturno, uno di quei vecchi treni con una carrozza riservata alla cuccette per signora (che non esistono più in India), per trovare le risposte che stà cercando. Sul treno incontra 5 donne, 5 storie diverse sul come essere donna nella moderna India, 5 storie di 5 diverse vite che aiuteranno Akhila a capire come sfuggire ai ruoli che la sua famiglia ha costruito per lei e come essere una forte, felice, indipendente donna single.
