Good mornig dear friends! So, that's my little surprise for you...I'm having a Giveaway from talented Daniela Rota Nodari at Dream Shabby Chic!

And, because Daniela's blog is in italian and mine in english, I will write this post in both languages!

E, dato che il blog di Daniela è in italiano e il mio in inglese, ho deciso di scrivere questo post in entrambe le lingue per venire incontro a tutte le nostre lettrici!

Daniela is a fantastic interior decorator of shabby and nordic taste, an exquisite designer of beautiful and dreamy jewellery, a painter of delicated paintings...I've told you she is talented!!! Haven't I?

But above all she is a sweet and kind person and it has been a pleasure for me to getting to know her.

Daniela has a gorgeous Etsy shop where she sells her amazing creations. Have a look, dear ladies...it's a joy to visit it!

Daniela è una fantastica interior designer che fonde il gusto shabby col nordico, una creatrice di squisita gioielleria, una pittrice di delicati dipinti... ve l'avevo detto che è molto talentuosa, no?

Ma sopra ogni cosa, Daniela è una persona dolce e gentile ed io mi sento molto onorata di averla potuta conoscere!
Daniela ha aperto un bellissimo Etsy shop dove potete trovare tutte le sue magnifiche creazioni. Dateci un occhio perchè è una festa per gli occhi!

I mailed Daniela some weeks ago asking her to buy a fantastic pair of earrings (you can see them above) to offer you all dear readers as a giveaway, and she was so kind and happy about the giveaway, that she decided to send them as a gift!

Ho scritto una mail a Daniela un paio di settimane fà chiedendole di comprare un meraviglioso paio di orecchini (li potete vedere più sopra) che avevo visto sul suo blog per un giveaway, e lei è stata così gentile e così felice di questo giveaway che ha deciso di donare gli orecchini!

Daniela è una persona veramente molto interessante, quindi penso vi piacerà la piccola intervista che le ho fatto!

MY LITTLE INTERVIEW WITH DANIELA

M. Hi Daniela, please tell us a little bit about you..

D. I'm an interior decorator and Shabby Chic designer. My works are about interiors, brocate interiors furnishings re-patinated with waxes or pigments, paintings and hand made decorations on different materials and shabby chic style jewellery.
My artist career has begun in Rome and then in Milan where I have owned a decoration and antiques Atelier for about 10 years. Then I dedicated myself to paintings restoration and design. At the beginning of 2010 I've inaugurated my new "Shabby Chic Design Atelier" and now I sell my creations to shops and Concept Stores all over Italy.


M. Ciao Daniela, raccontaci qualcosa di te...

D. Sono una decoratrice d'interni e una designer Shabby Chic , i miei progetti riguardano arredamenti, complementi d'arredo di origine brocante ripatinati con cere e pigmenti, quadri e decorazioni dipinti a mano su vari supporti e Bijoux in stile Shabby Chic.
La mia carriera artistica è incominciata a Roma e poi a Milano con l'inaugurazione di un Atelier di decorazioni e antiquariato che ho avuto per circa dieci anni. In seguito mi sono dedicata al restauro pittorico e al design.All'inizio di quest'anno ho inaugurato il mio nuovo Atelier " Dream Shabby Chic", un Atelier di design che distribuisce le creazioni un po' in tutta Italia a negozi e Concept Store.

M. You describe yours as a "Shabby chic of Nordic taste" style, how did you meet shabby chic and how did you come to this particular combination?

D. As an interior decorator I've always used in my works antiques and I've always loved that patina of time on them. Moreover I've always preferred a type of conservative restoration that maybe sometimes has been in contrast with the common sense of beauty. From these personal ideas originate my love for Shabby Chic, which means indeed worn by time...
The patina of time makes every interior chic and precious, and evoke a past time age that gives every setting a charming feeling.
While I was managing my last Atelier, I decorated houses with french and provencal furnishings. From this I discovered the nordic antiques and the hand decoration on porcelain: Delft, Limoges, Royal Copenaghen, Meinsen...


M. Descrivi il tuo stile come "shabby chic di gusto nordico", come hai conosciuto lo shabby e come sei giunta a questa tua particolare contaminazione?

D. Come interior decorator, ho progettato arredi e ambientazioni con mobili d'antiquariato ed ho sempre amato quella patina che il tempo crea sulla superfice degli arredi.

Inoltre ho sempre preferito un restauro conservativo per tutto ciò che riguarda l'antiquariato, anche a discapito dell'estetica comune, ed è proprio da questo concetto che nasce il mio amore per lo Shabby Chic, che significa proprio consumato dal tempo ...
il fascino di questa patina lasciata dal tempo rende chic e preziosi tutti gli arredi evocando un epoca passata che avvolge di charme qualsiasi ambientazione.
Nel mio precedente Atelier ho arredato case con mobili francesi e provenzali, da qui la passione per l'antiquariato nord europeo e la decorazione a mano su porcellana Delft, Limoges, Royal Copenaghen, Meinsen....

M. Where do you get your inspirations?

D. My design is a Shabby Chic with a touch of Provencal and Nordic taste, the inspirations are so many!
and can come from the simplest things...
...looking at the flowers, the fabrics, the colours, the shells, the pebbles, the shingles by the sea...
But I think that my inspiration also comes from all the knowledge I've acquired in these years...

M. Cosa ti dà l'ispirazione per le tue creazioni?

D. Il mio design quindi è caratterizzato da uno Shabby Chic con un tocco provenzale e nord europeo, le ispirazione sono moltissime!
e possono nascere dalle cose più semplici...
... osservando dei fiori, dei tessuti, dei colori, delle conchiglie, dei sassolini o dei ciottoli levigati dal mare...
ma credo che siano le conoscenze acquisite nel tempo che mi portano a creare...

M. What are your other passions apart from decorating and creating amazing jewellery?

D. Another big passion of mine is hand decorating wedding bobonnieres of XXVII and XXVIII century inspiration. I've realised some "cadeaux de mariage" for very important and weddings.


M. Quali sono le tue altre passioni, oltre la decorazione e la creazione di fantastici gioielli?


D. Un'altra mia grande passione è la decorazione a mano di bomboniere con progettazioni ispirate al 700 e all' 800, ho realizzato cadeux de mariage per Matrimoni molto importanti e per Famosi Vip.
